Negotiating a Win-Win

You got the call you have been hoping for regarding a great position with your first-choice employer, and naturally, after weeks (or months) of back and forth conversations, the recruiter is pressing you hard to make a decision in a short period of time. Even if there are no other hot prospects pending, and even if the ease of just saying 'yes' is very attractive, you owe it to yourself to take a step back and evaluate each component of the offer before making the commitment to accept.

Declining An Offer

If you are in the enviable position of receiving multiple offers, then you are also in the not so enviable position of having to decline at least one of them. Pretty straightforward, right? Well, no, not so much. Part of the credit for your being in this situation goes to the organizations for recognizing your potential value to achieving their goals, but I am almost certain that the majority of the credit for generating the offers rests squarely with you.
